On February 25, 2013 the City of Tualatin adopted Ordinance #1354-13 (File No. PTA-12-02), an Ordinance Adopting the 2013 Transportation System Plan Update.

We want to extend our appreciation to all who volunteered to serve on the Task Force, participated in a Working Group or other public event, and to everyone who provided feedback throughout the process.

Transportation System Plan Approved by Council

We are pleased to announce that the Tualatin City Council voted Monday night to adopt the Transportation System Plan. Council members praised the public effort and the dedication of community members who volunteered their time by serving on the Transportation Task Force. Community members who participated at Working Group meetings and through other public involvement opportunities were also commended. Overall, the TSP was approved as drafted, with one minor revision: the removal of Sagert Street from the list of freight routes.

Council to Vote on TSP

The Transportation System Plan will be back in front of the City Council on Monday, February 25th. At the meeting, city staff will answer questions, additional testimony will be received, and Council will deliberate and vote.

Council Announces Second Public Hearing for TSP

In order to meet important public notice requirements, the city has added a second public hearing for the City Council to hear from the public about the Tualatin Transportation System Plan—February 11th and February 25th. Staff presentations and public testimony will occur at the first meeting on February 11th. On February 25th, staff will answer questions, additional testimony will be received, and Council deliberation and a decision will occur.

Tualatin City Council Set Vote on Draft TSP

Following unanimous recommendations from the Tualatin Planning Commission and the Tualatin Parks Advisory Committee to approve the Transportation System Plan (TSP), the Tualatin City Council is set to conduct a public hearing regarding adoption of the TSP. The hearing is open to the public. Come voice your opinion and let the Council know where you stand on the draft TSP:

Advisory Committees Unanimously Approve TSP

At their February meetings, The Tualatin Planning Commission (TPC) and Tualatin Parks Advisory Committee (TPARK) unanimously recommended approval of the Transportation System Plan (TSP)!

These two recommendations are a reflection of the hard work and dedication that hundreds of citizens have devoted towards moving Tualatin into the future.

On February 11, 2013, the Tualatin City Council will review, consider the recommendations of the TPC and TPARK, and conduct a public hearing regarding adoption of the TSP. Once adopted, the TSP will be a blueprint for investments in Tualatin's transportation network over the next decade.

Visit the project library to view the draft of the TSP. Paper copies are also available for review at City of Tualatin offices and at the Tualatin Public library.

Final Call for Input on Tualatin’s Transportation Plan

It’s time to ring in the new year – with a review of the Draft Tualatin Transportation System Plan (TSP) Update! Once adopted, the TSP will be a blueprint for investments in Tualatin’s transportation network over the next decade. After 15 months of hard work, 16 Task Force and 18 Working Group meetings, and input from thousands of citizens, the draft of the TSP is available for review. Submit comments here, or directly to TPARK, the Planning Commission, or City Council. Your comments are encouraged before January 31, 2013 but will be accepted through February 11, 2013.

Next Steps

Tualatin advisory committees will review the Draft TSP Update this month. The public can attend the Tualatin Parks Advisory Committee (TPARK) review on January 8, 2013. The Tualatin Planning Commission (TPC) is scheduled to review and make a recommendation on January 17, 2013.

After the review process is complete, the Tualatin City Council will make an adoption decision. This is scheduled for February 11, 2013.

Tualatin City Council Sets Direction for Draft TSP

After the last Tualatin Transportation Task Force meeting in early November, two important unresolved issues were forwarded to Tualatin’s Advisory Committees and City Council. These groups were asked to consider if a northern extension of 65th Avenue and a widening of Boones Ferry north of Martinazzi should be included in the TSP. Here are the results:

As the final decision maker on the plan, the Council set direction for the exclusion of the 65^th Avenue extension suggestion while approving all other proposed projects from the Task Force. City Staff and consultants are now completing the draft TSP document for final public review and comment. It will be released the first week of January 2013. Transportation System Plan Update from the Oregonian

The Oregonian reported on Wednesday that the Tualatin City Council removed the proposed 65th Avenue extension over the Tualatin River from further consideration. The proposed widening of Boones Ferry Road to the north of downtown has been forwarded into the draft Transportation System Plan. Read the full article here.
